What my mirror told me today
“You know what I’ve learned?
That people are using you.
They are using you for their own good.
They don’t care if you’ve been crushed.
They don’t care if you go down there
Again, and again, and again.
They don’t care if you cry like a child
Every night, for hours,
Again and again, and again.
They only want you to be there for them
Only when they need you.
‘Cause when you need them, they vanish.
They’re playin’ hide and seek
But not with you,
With your heart instead.
They dissapear, but you hear that wisper:
”What a fool you’re been”
So you go in your soul again
To find them,
Between smiles, tears, butterflies.
You go in that corner of your mind
Again, and again, and again.
So you’re lost…again.
You see, my friend?
They don’t care about how you feel.
They care only about how you make them feel.
They push and pull you
Up and down, to the right and to the left
So there’s no heart….left
Anymore.
Yes, right there. There! You saw it?
That little tiny hole?
Yes, right there used to be your heart.
But you saw what people have done to it?
They pulled it from your chest
They took it for granted
So you can play hide and seek with that thing
Again, and again, and again.
So, let me tell you…
You’ve been a fool, but it’s okay.
It’s foolish to belive in them.
You’re only a fool anyway.
Again.”
